I originally posted the above on March 22nd, but am sad to say this tattoo artist, Phillip Spearman has outright refused to pay me in full for the work I've completed and that he has been using for more than 6 months. It saddens me that an artist can so shamelessly rip off another artist. Maybe this post will have higher search engine results than his website, and serve as a warning for others considering going into business with him. I think paying his $1000 debt to me would have been less costly than a poor reputation.

That is ridiculous. You should ask him to take off the website. Because he did not pay you, it is still your property.
The site she did the design for phillipspearman.net no longer exists, he didn't renew the domain. Instead, he stole the art she did and used it on inkworkstattoo

Hey anonymous peeps, thanks for the support. I took him to small claims and won, but he still hasn't paid. I told myself I'd remove this post once he does, but that hasn't happened yet. So, we'll see.
In any case, lessons learned. :)
I am friends with a few people in the tattoo industry and they all say this guy is a total douche and is really a shady character. I heard he stole thousands of dollars from other people too. Just heard a lot of bad things about this guy.
Heard a lot of bad things about this guy Phillip Spearman. From being a douchebag to being straight shady. Heard he stole a bunch of money not only from you but various people this past year. A lot of people in the tattoo industry don't like this guy. What artist claims to be the "#1 Tattoo Artist in the LA Area" and writes his own Wikipedia profile. His work is mediocre at best! LMAO!
